In 1993 a group of people with an interest in drama formed a group for the community of Sprowston, to include all ages.
The first production, at the end of January in 1993, was ‘The Wind in the Willows’.

As well as using the usual path of buying or hiring scripts we have provided an opportunity for new scriptwriters to put pen to paper and to see their words acted out on stage.

Through the years we have also put on various plays, music halls and such like, and now present regular summer and Christmas concerts. In recent years we have had an all-purpose platform (stage), but in the beginning, we had to
build a stage out of large wooden locks for each production. It was all hand on deck, often on a very night. Luckily there were always members to provide hot drinks and biscuits. Having limited staging, even today, we have had to devise ingenious ways to design scenery and properties and find ways getting them on and off the sets.

We are affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, which supports over 2500 amateur theatre groups throughout the UK.

With incredible support from the community, we have raised money for local charities with a
local connection (Including - The Matthew Project, Nelsons Journey And Guide Dogs).
